Mann Packing is recalling some minimally processed fresh vegetables for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. A single positive result was found during random sampling by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this issue.

These products were distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada. The best by dates on the packages are from October 12 to October 20, 2017. You can see the long list of recalled products at the FDA web site. Recalled products include Mann’s Family Favorites Broccoli Carrots, Mann’s Broccoli Cole Slaw, Mann’s Culinary Cuts Shaved Brussels Sprouts, Mann’s Family Favorites California Stir Fry, Mann’s Family Favorites Cauliflower Florets, and Mann’s Fiest Vegetable Tray, all with specific UPC codes, among others.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed container, or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Clean out your refrigerator with a solution of 1 tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of warm water. Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures. Wash your hands well with soap and water after handling these products.

If you ate any of these products, monitor yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include stiff neck, high fever, severe headache, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infections can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women, even though they may only have a mild illness. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
