"Blueberries have a high nutritional value as well as a relatively high commercial value. Consumers have shown increasing interest in blueberries in recent years. Blueberry plantations in China are distributed over a wide area, but there is much overlap between the supply periods of different production areas, so that competition increases when blueberries enter the market in bulk."
"Yunnan has a clear market advantage over other blueberry production areas because Yunnan is elevated and has excellent natural conditions for blueberry plantation. Yunnan blueberries exceed others in flavor and appearance. By comparison, Hangzhou blueberries are relatively sour, which is closer to the flavor of wild blueberries. We are currently developing sweeter blueberry varieties to better meet market demand."
"Our blueberry plantations are located in Tonglu County, Hangzhou, and cover 100 hectares. 93 hectares are designated for open-field plantations, while 7 hectares are designated for greenhouse plantations. We expect to reach peak production in 2020. We currently harvest most of our fresh blueberries for retail. The harvest season lasts from May 20th until around June 20th. The remaining blueberries are destined for processing to become blueberry face masks, lipstick, dried fruit, etc. The dried blueberries are sold under our own brands 'blue brightness' and 'blue rainbow' throughout China."
