Two food products have been recalled; one for undeclared allergens, the other for undeclared additives. No allergic reactions or illnesses have been reported in either case.
The first recall is for Otto’s Old-Fashioned Bologna for undeclared sodium nitrite and sodium erythorbate. These products were produced on May 11, 2018 and packaged on May 15, 2018. The recalled products are 14-ounce vacuum-sealed packages containing “Otto’s Old-Fashioned Quality Ring Bologna” with a lot code of 18131 and a “sell by” date of 08/09/2018; and 14-ounce vacuum-sealed packages containing “Otto’s Old-Fashioned Quality Garlic Ring Bologna” with lot code 18131 and “sell by” date 08/09/2018. They both have the establishment number “EST. 33989” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to a retail location in Wisconsin. An FSIS consumer safety inspector receives red a complaint from a consumer who purchased the product.
The second recall is for Hostess Cookies ‘n Creme Brownies for egg. The “contains” statement on the package does not list “egg” as an allergen, although the ingredient list on the packaging identifies “egg” as an ingredient.
The recalled products are Cookies ‘n Creme Brownies MP FSH with UPC number 20888109113579 and Batch numbers F052123000, F061123000, F071623000, and F072323000; Cookies ‘n Creme Brownies MP FZN with UPC number 30888109213573 and Batch number F052123000; Cookies ‘n Creme Brownies SS FSH with UPC number 20888109012025 and Batch numbers F052123000, F061123000, F071623000, and F072323000; and Cookies ‘n Creme Brownies with UPC number 30888109022021 and batch numbers F052123000 and F071623000.
If you bought these products, don’t eat them. Discard them or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
