The 18-year-old student Kajyibrami Ghilain has set himself the goal of finding a solution for the city dwellers in his home country. For several months, he has been working on the "Green Wall", a vertical greenhouse and irrigation system that can be attached to the walls of houses.
The system consists of a kind of flower tubs -cut open- and upside down plastic bottles. Through a pipe, the plants are supplied with water.
Ghilain's project is part of the African Union Youth for Change (AUY4C) initiative, launched last October. The Rwandan government wants to promote ecological projects by young people. The leader of the project is Diane Mushimiyimana.
