The Pakistani province of Balochistan is famous for natural resources, including gold, oil, gas, etc. It is also a cultivation hub of varied types of fruits. Grapes grow in abundance in various districts, like Quetta, Pishin, Kalat, Zhob and Loralia districts. Lately however, grapes imported from Afghanistan have been causing damage to the profits of the traders.

Unfortunately, this season does not seem to be fruitful for these grapes. This year, grapes will be inferior in taste. In Quetta, traders complained about water shortages. There is a lack of rain and the government has not helped growers through water arrangements.

This means that production is fairly low this year, which will require more grape imports from other countries to meet the demand of national market. The ultimate losers will Pakistani traders and even the government.
