Financialtribune.com stated that this amount of banana imports accounted for 1.5% and 1.06% of the volume and value of Iran’s total imports during the period under review.
More than 209,650 tons of bananas worth over $200 million were imported into Iran during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22). This shows a 28.49% and 11.41% decline in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year, according to the latest figures released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
