China: Fresh lotus root from Linyi, Shandong, enters the market

Farmers from Matou Village in Tancheng County, Shandong, are harvesting fresh "fruit lotus roots" from more than 67 hectares of lotus farms. The fresh "fruit lotus roots" began to enter the market on October 8th, 2018, attracting visiting buyers to the market in Linyi City, Shandong. This variety of white lotus root originally came from the USA. It is quite sweet and crispy, and can be eaten like fruit after it is washed with water.
