Fruit and berry production in Azerbaijan is expected to grow 20.5% by 2027

The Azerbaijani government has published forecasts for production in various sectors of the agro-industrial complex for 2023. The production of grains will continue to grow, but the most noticeable will be the increase in the production of fruits and berries.

According to government forecasts available to the Interfax-Azerbaijan agency, the volume of grain production in Azerbaijan is projected at the level of 3 646 300 tonnes in 2023, and 3 983 100 tonnes in 2026. That is, the growth will be 9.2%.

According to forecasts, the largest growth is expected in the production of fruits and berries.

The production of fruits and berries is expected at a level of 1 324 400 tonnes in 2023, 1 425 800 tonnes in 2024, 1 518 200 tonnes in 2025, and 1 618 000 tonnes in 2026. Thus, fruit and berry production in Azerbaijan in 2023-2026 will increase by 20.5%.

Vegetable production in 2023 is projected at 1 970 000 tonnes. The production volumes will increase to 2 065 000 tonnes in 2024, 2 165 000 tonnes in 2025, and 2 270 000 tonnes in 2026. Generally, vegetable production in Azerbaijan in 2023-2026 will increase by 15.3%.

According to government forecasts, an increase in potato production by 18% is expected in 2023-2026: 1 143 800 tonnes in 2023, 1 207 800 tonnes in 2024, 1 277 600 tonnes in 2025, and 1 350 400 tonnes in 2026.
