Two products, Forager Shakes and Vegetable Fried Rice, are being recalled because they contain food allergens that are not declared on the label. People who are allergic to those ingredients could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No adverse reactions have been reported.

The first recall is for Forager Product Nuts and Vanilla – Organic Plant Protein Shake.  Some expiration dates of Forager Shakes contains almond flour that is not declared on the label. The recalled products is sold in 12 fl. ounce containers, with UPC number 8 14558 02038 6, and expiration dates 12/7/18, 12/21/18, and 1/4/19. Products with expiration dates of 1/4/19 and later do not contain almond and are safe to consume.
 
The second recall is for Feel Good Foods of Brooklyn, New York Vegetable Fried Rice. This frozen meal contains undeclared egg, one of the major food allergens, that is not listed on the package label.
 
This product was distributed nationwide to about 400 retail stores. Six lots of “Vegetable Fried Rice” are recalled. It has the UPC number 00899039002129. The product is sold in a 9 ounce rectangular cardboard carton. The Vegetable Fried Rice has an ingredient sticker on the back and these best-by dates: 10/27/19; 10/29/19; 12/04/19; 01/25/20; 01/26/20; and 01/28/20.
 
The recall was started when the company discovered that an egg-containing product was distributed in packaging. The manufacturer did not remove egg from the product as instructed, while putting revised ingredient labels on the product.
 
If you purchased either of these foods and are allergic to the respective allergens, don’t eat them. Discard them or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a refund.
