The surface area currently devoted to kiwi fruit plantation in Shaanxi reached 73,333 hectares with an annual production volume of 1 million tons. This is a decrease of around 20% in comparison with the 1.3 million tons of last year, because the kiwi fruit plants suffered from frost in April when the plants were in bloom. However, the influence of frost was relatively small in the many plantations with highly advanced installations. Product quality is better than last year, and the price showed an obvious increase of more than 1 yuan [0.14 USD] per kg on average in comparison with the same period last year. The speed of sales also increased. The average profit of kiwi fruit farmers increased by more than 20%.
