Since the beginning of this week, the price of white cabbage in Russia has grown by an average of 20%, according to analysts of APK-Inform: Vegetables and Fruits, citing price monitoring data. At the same time, the project's experts point out that the great demand for white cabbage that persists on the Russian market since the end of October is causing prices to increase.
So, while the price of high-quality white cabbage in the Russian Federation stood at 10 rubles / kg ($ 0.15 / kg) last week, now it already amounts to 12-18 rubles / kg ($ 0.18-0.71 / kg), depending on the variety and region where it is shipped.
According to market participants, at the moment white cabbage is one of the most sought-after borscht vegetables on the Russian market. At the same time, the supply of this product is rather limited. Many still prefer not to rush into sales, since they don't rule out further price increases in the coming weeks.
It is worth noting that the current prices for white cabbage in Russia are on average twice as high as those of the first half of November 2017. We may recall that in the same period of the previous season, prices oscillated between 5-11 rubles / kg.
