The price of bananas recently showed minor fluctuations in many production areas. Overall, most production areas initially showed a price decrease. Take Guangxi for example, although the price of bananas in Guangxi production areas has not experienced a major decrease, a number of smaller decreases means that the price is now one of the lowest among Chinese banana production areas. Yunnan is gradually taking over as the main supplier, but due to recent rainfall, the price is somewhat chaotic. In some production areas the price is high, in others it is low.
The supply volume from production areas in Laos and Myanmar is still small. Their prices change with the changes in Chinese production areas, although Laos and Myanmar mainly export top-quality bananas, which means that their prices are generally higher and more stable.
The weather is gradually warming up after a short but strong cold wave. As the cold recedes, the consumer market warms up again, and the price in banana production areas is likely to stop falling and even increase again.
