Greenhouse cucumber prices continue to rise in the Russian market, according to analysts from EastFruit. This positive price trend is linked to a further reduction in the supply of Russian products (due to the seasonal factor) against the background of a stable demand.
According to the daily monitoring, the product's price in the central regions of the Russian Federation grew on average by 12% last week and currently oscillates between 110 and 180 rubles per kg ($ 1.58-2.59 / kg).
Market experts link the continuing price growth with the current lack of supply of both domestic and imported products in the Russian market. The season in most Russian farms is almost over, while the demand for greenhouse cucumbers has remained at least stable, with some greenhouse farms even reporting some growth.
Moreover, traders reported a significant reduction in cucumber imports from Turkey, which also fueled the overall positive price trend in the market. At the moment, most of the imported supply comes from Iran. The current price range for imported cucumbers in Russia is 85-120 rubles per kg ($ 1.22-1.73 / kg), which is on average 16% higher than a week earlier.
