"Many European countries rely on Dutch onion production to satisfy domestic market demand, and this development has increased in the last few years. Last year, however, the Dutch onion production volume decreased as a result of extreme weather conditions. Many European countries subsequently shifted their attention to China, another major onion producer." This is according to Parson Zhu of Qingdao A-Best International Trading Co., Ltd.

"We mainly export onions to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and such European countries as the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. Our production volume this year was at the same level as last year. Fluctuations are very small, but European demand has grown stronger since last year. We mainly export our onions to the Netherlands and the export price has recently significantly increased. We expect this trend to continue in the near future."

"The export of red onions is not as lively as the export of yellow onions, and the price remains at the same level as last year. This is because most European countries import their red onions from India, as the price of red onions from India is particularly cheap."
