Beijing Development and Reform Commission (BDRC) reported that prices of vegetables, beef, mutton and eggs are expected to show a seasonal downward trend as the weather warms this month, while pork prices will rebound from the bottom and rise steadily.
From the perspective of the law of vegetable price operation, in March, the seasonal rotation of vegetable producing areas gradually increased from south to north, and the market volume of greenhouse vegetables and open-air vegetables around the city increased, especially the price of leaf vegetables will obviously decrease, the overall production and supply capacity of vegetables will be enhanced, the circulation cost will be reduced, and the price will enter the seasonal decline range. In addition, at present, the stock of eggs is sufficient and the supply tends to be relaxed. In addition, the production, transportation and labor costs will decrease regularly after the warmer weather. The price of eggs will rise in limited space. It is expected that the price of eggs will continue to fluctuate at a low level in March. The consumption of beef and mutton will ease and gradually enter the off-season of consumption. Because the prices of beef and mutton are currently at a high level, there will also be a decline space, price is expected to decline moderately and slightly in the later period.
According to the information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the stocks of live pigs and fertile sows in 400 monitoring counties decreased by 12.62% and 14.75% respectively in January, compared with the same period of last year. The stocks of live pigs dropped by more than 5% in three consecutive months, and the decline continued to expand. Therefore, with the decrease of live pigs and the boost of frozen pork information in the central reserve, market demand will further increase and pork prices will decline in a limited space, showing a rebound trend.
