In India, garlic is as essential in the kitchen as onions. Recently, the price of garlic has gone high where onion prices have fallen. Since there has been less produce in Madhya Pradesh, the crop has jumped on the price chart.
After a period of 3 years, garlic prices have caused trouble to the kitchen. It has gone up to Rs100 (€1.28) a kg and is likely to exceed this 100 mark. As per the vendors in Savina sabji mandi, the supply of garlic packs has gone as low as 400 or 500 where it used to be 1000 packs a day.
Next month probably will show an even higher price tag, because the garlic producing farmers from Malwa (Madhya Pradesh) have almost withdrawn from the produce.
