USDA Report on retail foods in Singapore shows that the net fresh fruit imports for 2018 came out to $528 million. The top four major supply sources for Singapore were Malaysia (14%), United States (13%), China (12%), and Australia (11%). Singapore produces very little fresh fruit. Top U.S. fresh fruits in the Singapore market include grapes, oranges, strawberries, and apples.
Singapore also imported $220 million worth of tree nuts. The top four major supply sources for these are Indonesia (48%), Malaysia (15%), United States (10%), and India (6%). Along with cashews from neighboring countries, U.S. nuts are very popular. Some U.S. nuts are packed and sold under local brands.
