The advances of the negotiation for the entry of Colombian Hass avocado to South Korea were reviewed within the framework of the celebration of the second Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, which took place in South Korea and which included the participation of several representatives of the Government of Colombia, including the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Laura Valdivieso, and the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Affairs, Marcela Urueña.

According to Valdivieso, they discussed actions to facilitate and expedite the phytosanitary access to the Asian country for Tahiti lime, pitahaya, and carnations, among other products. In this regard, the vice minister will celebrate the implementation of the FTA Administrative Commission, which will evaluate the progress of the FTA.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, so far this year, Colombian Hass avocado exports reached 66.2 million dollars, i.e. 43.7% more than the 46 million dollars achieved in the same period of last year. Tahiti lime exports between January and July of this year amounted to 16.9 million dollars.
