Morocco exporting 47% more zucchini to the EU so far this season

The volume of zucchini sold to the EU by Morocco under quota from October 1 to December 8 has grown by 47% so far this year compared to the same period of the previous campaign. This has been revealed by reports from the Prices and Markets Observatory of the Government of Andalusia, with data from the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union of the European Commission.

The total volume of Moroccan zucchini exported to Europe amounts to 6.98 million kilos, 12.47% of the total authorized quota for the 2019/2020 campaign, which amounts to 56 million kilos from October 1, 2019 to April 20, 2020.

In week 49, from December 2 to 8, Morocco exported 2.47 million kilos to the European Union, 75.18% more than in the previous campaign and 107.56% more than in week 47.

Tomatoes
The total volume of Moroccan tomatoes that has reached the EU under quota and tariff preferences since the start of the 2019/2020 campaign (October 1), amounts to 57.94 million kilos. This represents 20.33% of the total authorized for the current campaign, and 4% more than in the same period last season.

The total quota authorized for Morocco to export to the EU in the 2019/2020 campaign (from October 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020) is 285 million kilos.
