In response, Mengniu noted that it will request Tianfu to correct the irregularities and improve its conditions within 48 hours. In addition, the company said that it will launch a nationwide inspection of all of its ice cream processing suppliers.
Mengniu, which has been affected by several safety scandals, recently entered into a partnership with Swedish-Danish dairy co-operative Arla Foods. Under the agreement, Arla will buy 6% stake in Mengniu, and will also offer expertise on milk quality, traceability and controlled milk production on farms.
