Roshen begins operations at confectionery plant in Ukraine

Ukrainian confectionery firm Roshen has initiated operations at its UAH600m (€59.1m) plant in Vinnytsia, Ukraine.

 

The new factory has a production capacity of 120,000 tons of chocolate products, and is spread over an area of 62,000m2.

Ukrainian minister for economic development and trade and the founder of Roshen said that the company developed the waste land of 16.4 hectares into a modern confectionery facility in less than two years.

The company is also planning to complete construction of a second confectionery plant in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, in the second half of 2012. The Lipetsk facility will have a capacity to manufacture 253,000 tons of confectionery.

Roshen is a subsidiary of Ukrainian Industrial and Investment. It produces about 410,000 tons of products per year.
