US-based agricultural cooperative Ocean Spray has introduced Reduced Sugar Craisins dried cranberries, which offer less sugar and more fiber per serving.
The company said that Reduced Sugar Craisins dried cranberries are fat-free, cholesterol-free and are free of artificial flavors and preservatives. One serving of the product offers 25% of the daily recommended fruit intake and one-third of consumer's daily fiber needs.
Ocean Spray global marketing vice president Larry Martin said that now the consumers can satisfy their snacking and baking requirements without sacrificing taste.
Ocean Spray is owned by more than 700 cranberry growers in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and other parts of Canada as well as 35 Florida grapefruit growers. The company reported fiscal 2011 gross sales of $2.1bn and net proceeds of $321m.
