Oman represents 33% of the total egg export from India. Egg exports, which totalled at 55.73 million eggs in March, fell to 41.56 million in April. It decreased to 24.08 lakh eggs in May and reached a 10-year-low monthly export of 8.9 lakh eggs in June.
Namakkal, a city in the state of Tamil Nadu, accounts for nearly 95% of the egg export from India, due to factors such as superior quality; competitive pricing; shorter delivery time due to easy accessibility to ports.
