US-based Moo & Oink has re-launched its Moo & Oink Pork Chitterlings, just in time for the holidays.
The Moo & Oink Pork Chitterlings are pig intestines that are prepared by cleaning, rinsing and then boiled or stewed for several hours. Chitterlings are sometimes battered and fried after the process of stewing and can be served with cider vinegar and hot sauce as condiments.
While chitterlings are enjoyed in most pork-eating countries around the world, in the US they are a Southern or an African American culinary tradition, the company said.
Moo & Oink is a joint venture between Best Chicago Meat Company and Dutch Farms.
Moo & Oink Chitterlings are available in the following locations in the Chicagoland area: 30 Jewel-Osco, 13 Ultra Food and 3 Leamington Foods locations along with the Gary County Market, One Stop and Park Packing.
