US-based foodservice equipment company Middleby has acquired Nieco, a manufacturer of automatic broilers for the commercial foodservice industry.
Nieco, headquartered in Windsor, California, has annual revenues of approximately $20m. Its customers include large quick service restaurants.
Nieco recently announced BroilVection, a patented new generation hybrid broiling technology. The technology combines radiant broiling, natural convection and focused forced convection air to deliver more product flavor with less energy costs.
Middleby chairman and chief executive officer Selim A Bassoul said that Nieco automated broiling equipment complements the current range of Middleby cooking technologies, which focus on improving efficiencies and reducing costs.
"As part of Middleby, we have the opportunity to offer Neico products to a broader market by leveraging the strength of Middleby's international sales organization and relationships with global restaurant chains," Bassoul added.
Middleby develops, manufactures, markets and services a broad line of equipment used for commercial food cooking, preparation and processing.
