The EU and Norway will continue to ban imports of bivalve mollusks from Peru following the detection of Hepatitis A.
The ban on imports of the products has now been extended to 30 November 2013.
The EU's import restrictions can be seen in Decision 2012_729_EU .
Hepatitis A virus can pose a serious health risk to the public health and therefore should not be consumed.
