US-based Teasdale Quality Foods, a manufacturer and marketer of Hispanic foods and a producer of canned hominy and beans, has acquired Zateca Foods for an undisclosed amount.
Zateca is a producer of pre-cooked dehydrated beans for foodservice providers, ingredient/spice manufacturers and branded food manufacturers. Its product range includes refried bean mix, pre-cooked dry whole beans, bean flakes, bean powder, bean granules and quick cooking beans
Teasdale CEO Alberto Bandera said, "We look forward to benefiting from his deep experience as we continue to pursue opportunities to bring great tasting products to our broad and growing customer base."
Zateca president Kregg Listen will serve as general manager of the company's Dehydrated Bean Division.
Listen said that the transaction will better position the company to pursue growth opportunities and enable it to bring products to more customers across the US.
In addition to serving the Hispanic market under the Teasdale brand and other branded products, Teasdale Quality Foods also manufactures shelf stable conventional, organic, Hispanic, ethnic, and kosher hominy and bean products for national and regional foodservice providers, retailers and consumer brands.
