The Nepal Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) is set to launch milk pouches in Pokhara, Nepal, as a part of its expansion plan.
In order to facilitate the launch, DDC has entered into an agreement with Panthi Dairy. Under the agreement, Panthi dairy will supply 10,000 liters of fresh milk on a daily basis.
DDC general manager Siyaram Singh said that the cooperative has outsourced the job to Panthi Dairy as it does not have infrastructure to process milk in Pokhara and the dairy has agreed to provide 10,000 liters of fresh milk every day, reported the myrepublica.com
The corporation was earlier involved in the milk processing in Pokhara until 2004 and later sold its plant to Sujal Dairy.
DDC has been sourcing milk products through its eight milk supply schemes in Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Hetauda, Lumbini, Janakpur, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Kohalpur. It is planning to establish a new processing plant in Attariya.
