Banfi Vintners, a leading importer of wines, has consolidated its portfolio of brands with Southern Wine & Spirits of America, a wine and spirits wholesaler, in 11 markets across the US.
Southern will distribute the brands in Delaware, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Kentucky, Utah, Wyoming and Washington.
While Southern has handled the distribution of Banfi's portfolio earlier, the recently acquired brands such as Pacific Rim, Rainstorm and Sweet Bliss were handled by other distributors.
Southern Wine & Spirits wine division senior vice president and president Mel Dick said that over the last several years, the company has had close business and personal relationships with Banfi and now it is looking forward to steward the many iconic brands from Italy, Chile, Australia, California and Argentina.
Banfi Vintners COO Marc Goodrich said the company has a strong relationship with Southern Wines & Spirits. "It was mutually beneficial for both of us to solidify our relations in these states and bring the entire Banfi portfolio under one leading house," Goodrich added.
Last month, Banfi consolidated its portfolio of brands with Glazer's, a leading spirits and wine distributor, in five markets across the US.
