Nestlé claims chocolate top spot over Meiji in Japan

Core Tip: Nestlé claims it now has the leading chocolate brand in Japan with Kit Kat through multiple innovations and emotion marketing.
During the company’s full-year results conference call, Nestlé chief financial officer (CFO) Wan Ling Martello said: “Kit Kat became the number one chocolate brand in Japan in 2012”.

According to data from Euromonitor International, Kit Kat was in fact the number two chocolate brand in 2012 behind domestic brand Meiji with a 6.8% and 13.5% share respectively.
