Kilchoman Distillery, an Islay-based distillery that produces single malt Scotch whiskey, is all set to roll out the Kilchoman Machir Bay 2013 expression on 4 March 2013.
Machir Bay 2013 is a blend of 4yo Oloroso sherry butt-matured and 5yo ex-bourbon cask-aged whiskies and is bottled at 46% ABV.
A spokesperson of Kilchoman was cited by Drinks International as saying that the distillery expects to produce 150,000l of the expression.
Kilchoman Distillery managing director Anthony Wills told the website that sales of Machir Bay 2012 exceeded their expectations and they are equally impressed with the 2013 mature offering.
Kilchoman distillery manager John MacLellan told the website, "The 2013 Machir Bay displays further evolution of the 2012 release, showing more maturation flavours from the excellent cask regime and is softer and more rounded with lovely creamy mouth- filling flavours."
Machir Bay 2013 will be available for purchase from the distillery website www.kilchomandistillery.com and from specialist whiskey retailers worldwide at recommended retail price of £39.99 per 750ml bottle.
