ACE Bakery, L.L.C. has opened a 60,000-square-foot bakery in Gaffney that will allow the company to continue to supply artisan baked bread, including baguettes, bread and rolls, to retail and food service sectors throughout the United States, with a focus on the East coast.
The bakery is designed to produce par-baked bread. Eventually it will produce bread 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. At full capacity the bakery will be able to make 32 million baguettes a year. With future expansion in mind, ACE Bakery bought 10 acres of land surrounding the bakery. The current building has 10,000 square feet of unused space.
“Thanks to the incredible support of our U.S. food service and retail clients, demand for ACE Bakery’s bread has continued to grow at a remarkable rate across the country,” said Lee Andrews, president of ACE Bakery. “With the new bakery in Cherokee county, we can now produce a wide variety of high-quality artisan breads closer to our American customers, improving our distribution and ability to service bread lovers across the U.S.”
Toronto-based ACE Bakery, a subsidiary of George Weston Ltd., has a principal place of business in the United States in Brownsburg, Ind. The company’s bread contains no preservatives and is available at restaurants, hotels, caterers, grocery and gourmet food shops in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.
