The Chinese tomato paste market is a fascinating one if export figures are anything to go by. Exports to Italy, its main market, fell dramatically in 2012 to just 62 183 tonnes in 2012.This is probably as a result of a very poor tomato crop in China and a good crop in Italy. Italy's share of the Chinese tomato paste market now stands at just 5.8%.
