Malaysia-based kopitiam restaurant chain The OldTown White Coffee (OTWC) plans to open between 20 and 30 new stores nationwide by the end of 2013.

Established in 1999, OTWC manufactures instant beverage mixes and products. It presently has 200 stores across Malaysia.

The OldTown White Coffee managing director Lee Siew Heng said that the company is looking further to expand its regional base in the coming year.

"Our plan includes increasing the number of our outlets and to export our instant beverages to a more extensive market," Heng added.

Further, the chain's strategy is to transform from the traditional coffeeshop ambience into self-service concept.

The cafe chain has implemented the selfservice concept and new set menus, fast-food stores for breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and supper.
