Maison Janneau, a France-based Armagnac house, is set to double its production capacity to provide for in-house distillation.
Maison Janneau fully distills, ages and bottles the Armagnac, a kind of brandy produced in the Armagnac region in Gascony, southwest France.
Founded in 1851 by Pierre Etienne Janneau, Maison Janneau has two production sites, including a distillery and an ageing cellar, within its premises in the appellation d'origine Armagnac in Condom.
The house mainly distills the spirits in continuous still. However, the original method of distilling Armagnac was the double distillation method carried out within pot stills. For some spirits such as VSOP and XO, the house combines both the distillation methods.
The current expansion will include addition of the continuous Armagnacaise still - Simple Chauffe - at its facility. It will allow the house to produce more than 5,000 hectoliters of alcohol at full capacity.
Maison Janneau's product range is classified into three principal lines: Classic Blends, Janneau Distillery and Janneau Millesimes. Besides these spirits, it also produces number of cocktails.
