Dutch food company Vion is set to further restructure its pork activities in Netherlands, as part of efforts to restore results on the highly competitive pork market.
The development is part of the company's plan to restructure its food activities in the Netherlands and Germany.
As part of the process, Vion Food Boxtel will take over the activities of Vion Food Helmond which will be shut down. This decision is the result of the company's new course which was announced on 24 April this year.
Vion stated that the restructuring will affect about 130 jobs; however, the company will make everyt possible attempt to re-assign staff internally.
The company has put a proposal to its Works Council for recommendations regarding the proposed decision.
Vion Food Netherlands operates as two business units - pork and beef. The company produces and processes pork and beef products at nine production facilities in the Netherlands and supplies its products to retail, industrial and foodservice customers in the Netherlands, Europe and worldwide.
