Pinnacle Foods expands Vlasic pickles manufacturing facility in Michigan

Pinnacle Foods has officially announced the expansion of its Vlasic pickles manufacturing facility in Imlay City, Michigan.

The project has created create 29 full-time jobs and 500 seasonal jobs during the peak summer production season.

With this expansion, the facility now manufactures all Vlasic, Milwaukee, and Wiejski Wyroby products, Vlasic's new line of hand-packed pickles, Farmer's Garden by Vlasic.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder said, "This project is an example of the increased investment and job growth in the state's food and agriculture industry, which is playing a key role in making Michigan the Comeback State."

Pinnacle Foods' Imlay City facility plant manager Gary Lauber said: "We're thankful for the support of the local community, RWDSU Local 87, our employees, and the State and Local Governments for their support in making our expansion possible, and we look forward to long-term success in Imlay City."

In February 2012, Pinnacle Foods announced plans to focus on its branded Vlasic business while de-emphasizing its un-branded food-service pickle businesses which paved the way to consolidate all of the company's pickle production to the Imlay facility.

Vlasic pickles are available in nine key segments including Kosher Dill Spears, Bread and Butter Chips, Ovals, Sweet Gherkins, Large and Small Whole Dills, Stackers, Relish and Peppers.
