France's leading private label chocolate maker Cémoi look like they are about to embark on an expansion into the US market as they believe there is little opportunity for growth in Europe.
It also hopes to focus its attention on promoting its branded goods in Asia.
The company sells branded goods through its Cémoi and Jacquot brands, but it also manufactures chocolate products for for private label customers as well as selling cocoa ingredients.
A company director said that "there is no longer any opportunity for strong growth" in the European market.
With that in mind, Cémoi hope to turn its attention away from Europ and look for potential opportunities in North America.
"The private label market, whilst well-structured in America, is way behind that of Europe but its recent growth is particularly strong," said Cémoi.
The company estimates that chocolate sales in America have risen 27.5% since 2009.
