Barry Callebaut, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products, will plant a cocoa tree for every registered visitor to its booth (n° 8H31), during the upcoming Food Ingredients Europe (FIE) trade fair. The FIE will take place in Frankfurt from November 19 to 21, 2013. The cocoa trees will be planted in Côte d’Ivoire, tagged with the name of the respective registered user. With this campaign Barry Callebaut aims to give every visitor at this year’s FIE the opportunity to make an individual contribution to the sustainable cultivation of cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire.
‘We’ve got a cocoa tree with your name on it!” is the name under which the campaign will run at FIE. All FIE visitors approaching the booth will find themselves surrounded with cocoa trees. These trees are symbolic to the ones that will be planted for every FIE participant registering at the Barry Callebaut booth.
”At Barry Callebaut we invest in sustainable cocoa cultivation in Côte d’Ivoire and other African countries. Many people who closely track our industry share this commitment because of their love for cocoa and their genuine care for all the farmers who deliver us the cocoa. With this campaign we want to give everybody at FIE a chance to make a personal contribution to this great cause”, says Sofie De Lathouwer, Marketing Director FM Western Europe at Barry Callebaut.
The cocoa tree campaign is not the only reason why visitors at this year’s FIE should drop by at Barry Callebaut’s booth. Among many other things, the company will present its Cocoart™ collection at FIE: a new line of e-number free print designs based on Bensdorp cocoa powder.
