Sainsbury’s, a UK-based retailer, is recalling its own brand Taste the Difference Goats' Cheese and Beetroot Bakes with Roast Beetroot Salsa, as they may contain a product with egg as an ingredient which is not mentioned on the label.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an allergy alert.

The product being recalled is Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Goats' Cheese and Beetroot Bakes with Roast Beetroot Salsa of 330g featuring 'Best before' end date August 2014. It poses a possible health risk to consumers with an allergy or intolerant to egg.

Those who have purchased the affected product have been advised to return it to the Sainsbury's store for a full refund.

Sainsbury's has withdrawn the affected product from sale and displayed point-of-sale notices in stores, regarding the product recall. No other products are known to be affected.

In addition, it contacted the relevant allergy support organizations, which will inform their members about the withdrawal.
