Nogales, Ariz.-based Veggies Inc. has expanded its facility space by 75%, adding four new packing lines and increasing the number of dock doors by five.
With the number of dock doors increasing from eight to 13, the Veggies Inc. Primus-certified facility also has a new ramp for expanded cross-docking services, according to a news release from the company. The expanded facility’s four new production lines are designed for private label packing, conditioning, overwrap processing and other packaging needs, according to the release.
Veggies Inc., under the leadership of chief executive officer Mike Vohland, has added 15-year industry veteran Luis “Louie” Valenzuela to the sales desk. Other hires are in the accounting department and warehouse. Warehouse staff additions include loaders, in-house quality control, dispatchers and field quality control, according to the release.
“We are always looking for ways to continually improve our products and services, and with our added facilities and employees, we will be able to do just that, to an even greater audience,” Marco Barreda, vice president of Veggies Inc., said in the release.
Veggies Inc. handles product from Mexico, California, Texas and Arkansas.
