Some Walmart Burgers Caught in Nationwide Beef Recall

Walmart announced late yJensen Meat esterday that Jensen Meat Company, Inc., as a “Consignee” was implementing a third-party voluntary recall in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The recall was prompted after Rancho Feeding Corp. advised Jensen Meat that raw materials used in whole or in part must be removed from commerce in accordance with FSIS directive 8080.1 revision 7.

According to Jensen Meat, the voluntary recall action is not related to any contamination, and there has been no report of illness associated with consumption of these products, according to USDA.

Jensen Meat has ceased all direct and indirect business relations with the material supplier in question. The company has also notified and requested the withdrawal of the affected products in 16 states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.

Meat sold at Sam’s Club and Walmart was also part of the earlier Rancho Feeding Corp. recall. That recall included nearly 9 million pounds of meat produced since January 2013.
