Mike Smith, the CEO of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), has purchased Spray Farm winery on Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, from Rick Jamieson for $10m.

The site, which was formerly known as Ellenvale, is spread over an area of around 64ha and houses a seven bedroom homestead, architect-designed gardens by Paul Bangay, as well as a sandstone deck.

It was put up for sale through real estate firm Kay & Burton South Yarra in 2013, the Financial Review reported.

Smith has sold his shares in ANZ worth around $17.3m to acquire the estate.

When founded in 1851, Spray Farm was spread on a area of 263ha. However, the size has reduced after certain portions of the site were sold.
