The Freshline QS tunnel freezer has been developed by Air Products in direct response to customer research findings among smaller, independent food businesses.
In particular, customers said they wanted to experiment with new frozen product lines at the same time as increasing their freezing capacity but without necessarily taking up more floor space.
The entry-level Freshline QS tunnel is 5.6m in length and is capable of freezing up to 350 kg/hr.
Ann Callens, European food sector specialist at Air Products, said: “Smaller food businesses are increasingly finding that it is necessary to experiment regularly to introduce product refinements and develop lines that will be even more appealing to consumers. Time for product testing is usually required before taking new lines to retailers. Compared with mechanical freezers, cryogenic freezing systems are an ideal way to quick freeze foods on a budget because the technology can be rented and does not require an upfront capital investment.
