Single Cask Nation, a brand owned by US-based Jewish Whisky Company, is set to launch a new American whisky bottling - Catoctin Creek rye whisky aged over two years.
Developed in partnership between Jewish Whisky and Catoctin Creek Distillery, the new Single Cask Nation Catoctin Creek expression was aged in a bourbon barrel for over a year, and then the whisky was moved to a used white wine cask, where it was aged for almost another year and a half, reported bevnet.com.
Commenting on the development, Catoctin Creek Distillery founder Scott Harris said that the chosen barrel contained a very unique distillation from August 2011.
"It was aged in a bourbon barrel for just over a year, and after that, we moved the whisky to a used white wine cask, where it has aged for almost another year and a half. The result is a whisky unlike anything we've offered to date," added Harris.
The Single Cask Nation Catoctin Creek expression, which will be bottled at cask strength with around 200 bottles available, has hints of rye profile, yellow and red fruits.
