The European Commission's Director General of Agriculture and Rural Development, Jerzy Bogdan Plewa, claims that negotiations concerning the entry price of Moroccan fruit and vegetables onto the European market progressed in a ''direction to find a pragmatic solution, above all for tomatoes''.
These solutions must be on par with the delegated act approved by the EU Parliament and Council.
The modification of the access price system for Moroccan fruit and vegetables onto the European market has been strongly condemned by both the government and Moroccan professionals who see it as a threat to national economy.
Adopted by the Agricultural Commission in the European Parliament on the 7th April and on the 14th by the EU Council, this decision aims to restrict customs-clearance methods of agricultural products on entry.
