Said managing director, Paul Davidson: ”The company has decided to invest significantly in its workforce to manage its future growth and funding support from an RSA grant through Scottish Enterprise will enable us to increase our present workforce in East Kilbride by 50% from 40 to 60 employees. We envisage this will allow us to accelerate our plans.”
He concluded: “This increase in staff combined with financial investment and an expansion of our premises ,will allow us to enhance our expertise in crystal design, packaging and innovative product development and ensure that Glencairn Crystal continues to secure pole position as the largest supplier of crystal to the Scottish Whisky industry in the UK and Ireland, as well as supplying their products and gaining interest in over 50 countries in the global market.”
Glencairn Crystal has been selected for the 2013 United Kingdom Excellence Award amongstl its peers and competitors by the US Trade & Commerce Institute (USTCI).. The company also gained a number of National Business awards including The Queens Award winner in 2012.
