A mango breeder names new mango variety in honour of India-Russia relations after introducing the new type of Fruit at a New Delhi Mango Festival.
"The mango weighs around 1 kilogram. Just yesterday this type of mango didn't have a name, but now it does. It is named Hindi-Rus in honour of Russia. Let this Fruit become another symbol of friendship between our two countries," said the breeder Tariq Mustafa.
This name was taken from earlier, very popular sayings in India: "Hindi Rusi bye bye", or "Indians and Russians are brothers". The Hindi-Rus variety ripens in July.
