Australian family run company Capogreco Farms have been attending Asia Fruit Logistica for 3 years now. This year they will be promoting their long shelf life rockmelons which are offered through shipping up to 21 days by sea giving the customer a huge saving compared to air freight.
Bruno Capogreco, Operations Manager at Capogreco, "Our Asian market is very important to our company, we are based in Perth which is ideally located logistically for shipping our products like melons broccoli. We grow, pack and ship our products direct to all our clients domestically and internationally."
The company has very strong business with Singapore, Hong Kong and UAE and are very interested in more markets in the Middle East and Asia.
"We have also met with clients from China, and look forward more meetings at Asia Fruit Logistica.
Capogreco Farm's main products are Rockmelons, Honeydew melons and broccoli. They are also growing baby watermelons which are similar in size to rockmelons, although very limited with volume at this stage.
Since Asia Fruit Logistica 2013 the company increased exported product from 32% to 48% and would like to take this over 60% in 2015.
