The XXIII International Congress of producers and exporters of Melon and Watermelon from Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Panama will be held between September 2 and September 4 in Panama City. Expectations are that more than 400 participants from 22 countries will attend the Congress.
According to the Panamanian government, some of the objectives of the Congress are to facilitate business meetings, update knowledge and marketing strategies to facilitate the export and optimization of the trade agreements signed by Panama, and other international trade opportunities.
The Congress will be organized by specific areas that include exhibitions of products and services; update on agro-technologies and international trade; irrigation equipment, crop production in modified atmospheres, plasticulture, good agricultural and manufacturing practices; transport of perishable goods, and international trade, among others.
Training will be promoted in the Congress with emphasis on crop diversification, and the participation of producers and exporters of melons, watermelons, pineapples, peppers, onions, coffee, cocoa, among other products, stated the Ministry of Industry and Panamanian Trade.
"It will generate the opportunity to exchange experiences and sustainable practices in order to transfer knowledge, that provide answers to the urgent need of making the agro-export activity sustainable," they added.
